Trailing gas or trailing cup: When welding certain. Material like titanium the pool of molten metal is high sensitive to the atmosphere. And requires the weld to remain shielded the gas for am extended period of time. Usually Argon or sometimes helium. Though I dont think you would use helium during an application. That required trailing.
